What's in my bag? Feb 2018

I love 'What's in my bag' kinda posts, mainly because I am SO nosey but also because I like to gain inspiration for products. Bags are so personal and even more so our contents, they show a lot about ourselves and our personality. I think mine shows that I am an organised mess. I have everything i could possibly need but its a mess kinda way. So lets get into my bag!

First of all my bag is from New Look and only 12 golden coins, I did try to find it on the website but as it was in the January sales i cant! Anyway I like big bags, lots of room to carry my stuff around and also deep enough so that when i'm looking for something like my keys i can never find them.

My Purse is actually from eBay (link isn't the same one but its very similar!) I wanted something that actually shows both sides of my personailty. Kinda Gothic but also loves Pink and girly stuff!

Hand Sanitizer is a must for me, I hate my hands feeling gross ans sticky. My current one is Aloha from Bath and Body Works from when husband and I went to Florida last year. Smells like coconut which is one of my favourite smells and fruit, makes your skin feel so soft and the smells lasts forever.

My hands get very dry in all weather and i'm currently using a tester from L'Occitane and I will be purchasing a full size when I run out!

I have a plastic water bottle again from Primark that I take everywhere with me. I'm really working hard to reduce my plastic consumption. I used to buy a bottle a day but no more. So its saving me money and saving the Earth. Winning.

I forever have a book with me. I'm currently reading 4 book atm because clearly I get bored *insert eye roll emoji here* The book i'm carrying everywhere at the moment is WITCH by Lisa Lister. This is a beautiful book if you're into Witchcraft. It has its downsides but it's still informing and wonderful!

The Essentials
Hairbrush, Earphones, Umbrella and Gum. Cannot go anywhere without these 3 items. especially my headphones and umbrella because it's Scotland ans we can have all weathers in one day.

So that is my bag. lots of stuff that I do actually use surprisingly.

Let me know what's in your bags in the comments below, Tweet me or go send love on Insta

Till next time babies

Wondering what to watch? Try these....

Netflix has become such a huge part of our lives now, there is nothing more I love than coming home after a long day at work, its raining and cold and I get in my jammies after a hot bubble bath, cuddle up with a cup of Yorkshire Tea, some snacks and binge watch the hell out of these shows!

1) The Crown

If you love the British Royalty or even want to watch something different, watch this! The writing is superb, acting is flawless and the storytelling is done in such an interesting way that it'll make anyone interested in the royal family. Also Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth is EVERYTHING, she plays her so well and is just impeccable.

2) Mindhunter

I saw the preview for this and wasn't all that fussed, which is strange because I love crime dramas but then twitter was abuzz with it and I become curious and well... I think we watched it in 3 days... Based on the True story of how the FBI started coining the terms of 'Serial Killers', its brilliant acting, funny moments and on the edge of your seat moments will make you want more... trust me. Cannot wait until the 2nd season.

3) Friends

I don't need to explain this one do I? Over 10 years on TV and its still going strong as timeless and hilarious... even if Ross is an arse.

4) Once Upon a Time

This is a marmite show... you will either love it or hate it. Almost like twisted Disney but characters stories are changed and its very different from the Disney stories. Filled with magic, incredible costumes and the occasional song... I personally love it.

4) Alias Grace

I have seen very little love for this show but its amazing. Based on Margaret Attwood's book, an Irish Immigrant moves to America and gets accused of murdering her employers, it's absolutely gripping! If you loved The Handmaid's Tale... you will love this.

5 Salem

Don't watch if you don't like horror, blood, witches and sex cause this show has it all. Supernatural goodness, more amazing costumes and a highly addictive theme tune. As well as a gripping storyline and incredible acting performances especially in the first season. Such a shame there's only 3 seasons!

What are you watching that I should watch? Did you watch any of my suggestions? If so Let me know what you think!

My face costs a A LOT of Money... eek

Ok so anyone who knows me... follows me on social media etc etc knows I like make up... ok... love make up... would marry it if it was possible (sorry husband)... I thought it would be fun to tell you the products that I use the most on my face and add it up at the end then probably going and look at shoes that I could afford if my face hadn't spent it...

Primer
Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser £7.99

I tend to forget about this Primer until I see it in the shop, I just love how it makes my skin feel. I do leave it to 'sink in' for about 5-10 mins first though especially when I've put a face oil on.

Foundation
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in 3 £30

I used to hate it but a tiny bit of oil with my moisturiser and its now my favourite one of all time. It oxidises slightly but its workable.

Power
Make Up Revolution Bake and Finish £5.00

Its a great product but its very very white so instead of leaving it whilst I do something else , I leave it for about 1 minute and it still keeps my face in place all day

Concealer
Rimmel Match Perfection £6.49

My all time favourite, the coverage is great, doesn't crease and the colour is pale enough and doesn't oxidise... The tube doesn't last all that long but honestly at the price who even cares?

Brows
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade £19

I will never use anything else again. Absolute perfection. Doesn't smudge and lasts for ages... I'm lucky if I use 2 pots a year

Eyeshadow
Morphe 39a Dare to Create £32

I have a stupid amount of palettes but I probably pick this one up the most mainly because it had all the colours I could ever want! Maybe I'll do a post on my favourite palettes?

Eyeliner
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper £20

So I can't find this product on Debenhams website and now I'm stressing OUT (edit they tweeted me back and they will be getting it back in stock)  because this is the only liner and that I will ever use. Its proper black, lasts for ages (like I've been using it for over a year and I've only brought 2) and helps create the best winged liner ever.

Mascara
Maybelline Push Up Angel £7.99

It's cheap and its got a weird wand but its legit the best one I have ever used.... ever.

Contour
Kat Von D Shade and light £37

I just love Kat Von D so much ok? Her contour palette is my go to every day and the light powders work wonders to sharpen the contour. Colours can sometimes go a tad grey but very rarely.

Highlight
Illamasqua Beyond Powder in OMG £34

I shall do a post about my favourite highlighters because they are my most loved make up products but this Illamasqua one is my most used. It's a beautiful colour, makes you shine like a goddess and works well with pretty much every skin tone.

Lips
Anastasia Beverly Hills Pure Hollywood £20

One of the very few liquid lipsticks that actually is so comfortable to wear and doesn't come off during the day and becomes crumbly. Also Pure Hollywood is the most beautiful natural nude.

Lets add it up...

(drum roll)

My face costs £219.77

That's actually not half as bad as I thought it would be, certainly not enough to be able to afford my dream Sophia Webster shoes. Obviously some days it more and some are less depending on what look I'm going for and what I'm doing that day. But I think that price is ok... some may disagree (my husband for one) but it's my love.

Let me know what products you love and what you think I should try out!

Cha..Cha..Changes (And Update about life and stuffs)

I've been away for a LONG time! Although I have been busy honestly I have no excuse apart from I'm mega lazy.
In the months that I've been away things have happened, some bad things that I'm not prepared to talk about just yet (maybe one day though) and other things I'll list in bullet point form (although tbf its nothing that interesting)
  • Myself, Husband and Cat moved to a bigger flat. We had been in the shoebox old flat for 3 years and honestly I just had too much make up and Disney Merch and it was getting crowded.
  • We explored The Hermitage and Queens View in Perthshire
  • We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary by seeing Fozzy in Glasgow
  • We celebrated 5 years being together and not killing each other
  • Husband got a new job which is always exciting.
  • I got drunk at the work christmas party.. oops...
  • Christmas happened and everything was good for a couple of days
And honestly that's it so yeah pure laziness on my part for not blogging. Soz.

2018 is nearly upon and 2 things happen.... Some People put up the New Year New Me thing and other people moan about the said people that put the New Me thing (insert eye roll emoji here). Honestly just let people do what they want.
I turn 26 in May and although obviously its still young I don't feel all that accomplished and all I find myself saying to myself is 'I wish...' Well I'm going to stop wishing and  start doing. Stop wishing to lose weight... I'm going to make changes and set myself goals each month and smash the hell out of them. Stop wishing to become a Blogger and  yes you guessed it.... start doing it. Go out to places around me, I live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, I need to explore it more. Just start doing more and less sitting around the house moping and if people don't like it... stuff them to be honest.

What you can expect from me on my Social media this coming year...
  • Make Up looks/reviews/hauls etc etc after all it is my first love
  • Lifestyle stuff
  • Weight loss updates
  • life update every few months
  • Music playlists
  • Top 10 lists etc
and Hopefully a lot more fun stuff!

We need to talk about... NYX

So I've had this idea for a while and I'm going to start a series called 'We need to talk about...' and its going to be about whatever I am LOVING lately! So to start it off in a wonderful way I'm be chatting about the latest products I've brought from my latest favourite brand NYX!

So for years us in the UK have been lusting over NYX and now finally its easily accessible both online and in everyone's favourite drugstore Boots!
I recently brought some products online and then my local Boots store got a beautiful refit and got a NYX stand so naturally I had to get products from there as well because well I have a problem buying make up.

I am in love with warm toned palettes so when i saw the Perfect Filter palette in Rustic Antique I just HAD to have it. It is so pigmented, so blendable and so versatile for all sorts of looks! The shimmer colours work amazingly with a wet brush aswell! It is going to be one of my most used palettes especially in Autumn!

As with warm toned natural eyeshadows I have such a thing for blue and green shadows so naturally I got one of the Hot singles eyeshadow in Poolside and it legit is the colour of the pool when you go on holiday! I do find I really need to pack the colour on with a flat brush but once I've done that it is BEAUTIFUL! I put it with the Rustic Antique for a night out and it looked wonderful.

So when I ordered this I actually thought it was a glitter because clearly I didn't read the description but I still love it so much! Its the NYX Pigment in Peacock. I have quite a few pigments and can honestly say this is one of the best ones! It's almost creamy in texture and the colour pay off is just beautiful! It quite literally is the colour of a peacock.

Finally my favourite latest product! I have been after a proper red (not pink, not a pinky red, a proper Red) face and body glitter for YEARS! NYX Red Glitter is a proper deep blood red and it's beyond beautiful. It's finely milled so there is a slight fallout but it's nothing that can't be swept away. It is so easy to work with and the NYX Glitter glue is just perfect for it! I have SO many idea's for this glitter especially during Halloween and Chrismas!

NYX is a wonderfully affordable brand and has a lot of dupes for many more expensive products. Their campaigns for new products are stunning and use beautiful and wonderful diverse models. They can be sure that they'll be getting a lot of my hard earned cash!

Here's some swatches of Rustic Antique, Poolside and Peacock!

 Rustic Antique
Poolside                   Peacock

I hope you enjoyed this post and there will be more NYX posts because their a brilliant brand!

What are your favourite products? let me know in the comments!

An Introduction to Phili Sparkle!

Hi guys! As you can probably work out I'm Phili! I'm a 25 year old Make Up obsessed English lass living in Scotland! I live with my husband and our fur baby Pumpkin the demon cat.
I've been obsessed with Make Up since I was about 15 years old and even went to a Media Make Up school for 2 years, but its only been kind of the past year or two that I've properly got into it and that's where my collection has grown from basics that could fit into a make up bag into my husband getting so fed up of it being everywhere that he brought me a dressing table to put it all in and admittedly that's now pretty much bursting.

When I'm not playing with Make Up, I'm working in retail, exploring Fife, getting through my massive pile of books, watching TV Shows like Game of Thrones (who isn't though), Outlander and Ru Paul's Drag Race. Or torturing myself by adding products to my Cult Beauty or BeautyBay wishlist!

This is going to be my wee corner of the internet which is going to be full of things I love, products I find, tips that i live by and anything else I discover in the future and I'm so excited to go on this journey!

Thank you for reading and hope you come back for more! In the meantime pop on over to my Twitter or IG and say Hi!
